Ways we can help animals in Wildfires

Sympathetic water magic

During the Changing Times, it seems Mother Earth , and perhaps other forces, are determined to create catastrophe for people and animals.

So how can we help?

We can send donations, offer accomodation, be boots on the ground, rescue animals.  But we can also work our personal magick.

Today I want to discuss wildfires as we have just had that nightmare in the Grampians in Victoria, and now LA is alight, triggering all of us who have lived with fire before. Wrapping every single being in a blanket of love , compassion, and soothing light.

One of the lessons I learnt is to be prepared as much as you can be, have your animals and your “escape box” ready with all the documents and things you need, including torches, water and maybe protein bars!,  build relationships with the elements before you need to ( like now!), and spend time making your place as high vibe as possible with prayers, meditations and so on.

I was surprised to find a clearing in the bush where I had been feeding wildlife through the drought, was spared during the ravages of wildfire  in November 2019. It was in the middle of the bush, but that kind of act of kindness creates  and builds its own energetic field. The gratitude of the animals we fed helped as well.

After the Black Summer fires I spent many hours healing the trauma of the animals, land and trees. But today I wanted to talk about some of the things we all can do to support animals during a wildfire.

  1. Call upon the Element of Water
    • Visualize rain gently falling over the affected areas, quelling the flames and cooling the land. Imagine streams, rivers, and clouds bringing life-giving water to the animals and plants. And let’s do this with the specific intention of gentle. We want to avoid mudslides from torrential rain.
    • Pray rain the indigenous way by really feeling it on your skin.  Feel mud between your toes.  Hear the gentle rain. Feel the cool drops.  And see it putting out the fire.
    • Use bowls of water as an offering to the element of water and dedicate this intention to protecting all life in the fire zones.
  1. Connect with the Spirit of the Land, Unseen, and Animals
    • Communicate with the spirits of the land, including the spirit of Mama Gaia, the ancient guardians, the fae, and the spirits of the animals. and trees.  Offer your compassion and your willingness to act as a guardian. Ask them for guidance to help the situation.  And ask them what they need. How can I help?
    • Ask that all beings caught in the fire have a quick release to spirit and therefore aren’t harmed.
    • Meditate to send healing to the land, visualizing the fires retreating and balance being restored. This includes reiki, the violet ray, silver light, blue light.  And anything you might receive when you ask. As usual, it is not the sort of thing we can do without permission. But if you feel called to help, you probably are being called to help.
  1. Light a Protection Candle or Lantern
    • Use a candle or lantern as a focal point for your intention. Infuse it with protective energy and call upon the light to create a shield of safety around the animals and the land.
    • You might chant or say a prayer such as:
“Flames are gone. Wind is still. Land is cool.  Water heals. lLife, protected. It is said. It is so.” Or whatever you are called to say.. in the positive and in the present.  And as if it has already happened.
  1. Work with Heart Energy.
    • Put your hand on your heart and feel the warmth and peace there.  Radiate calm, protective energy. Imagine sending waves of love and peace to the animals in the fire zones, wrapping them in a blanket of energetic safety.
  1. Call Upon Allies in Spirit
    • Invoke protective beings such as guardian angels, faery allies, the gnomes of the earth, and elemental spirits. Ask them to guide animals to safety, shield them from harm, and help reduce the intensity of the fires.
    • You can specifically ask for the winds to calm and for the flames to move away from areas with dense animal and people populations.
    • Speak to the fire spirits and tell them “enough.” Tell them their message has been received.
  1. Group Visualizations and Prayer Circles
    • Join with others in person or online to amplify your intentions. Collective energy can be powerful. Visualize the fire’s retreat, rain falling, and animals finding safe refuge.
  1. Create a Protective Energy Web
    • Picture a golden web of energy extending across the affected areas, shielding the animals and the land. Envision this web as a living network of light that protects and soothes all beings in its embrace.
  1. Use Crystals and Offerings
    • Place selenite, clear quartz, or smoky quartz (or other crystals you like to work with including rose quartz) in a grid formation around a map or image of the affected area. These stones can help transmute fear and direct healing energy.
    • Offer rolled oats, grains, fruits, and nuts to the spirits of the animals in gratitude for their lives and resilience. You can do that for all beings, seen and unseen, in your garden or local park or forest.. the intent is there and will be received.
  1. Send Energy of Gratitude and Rebirth after the Fire.
    • Fires can signal endings, but they also bring rebirth. Send energy of regeneration and renewal to the land. Hold the vision of a thriving, harmonious ecosystem emerging after the fires. And send soothing divine love and deep peace and forgiveness to help clear the trauma.
