THE BILLIE DEAN DEEP PEACE TRUST and the DEEP PEACE MOVEMENT
“There will not be true peace on the planet, until we have peace for all species.” – Billie Dean
“Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.” ~ Albert Schweitzer, 1875-1965
The Billie Dean Deep Peace Trust advocates social change for animal welfare so animals can be safe and free. It promotes protection and peace for all species through education, the arts and compassionate action.
The Philosophy
Animals are sentient beings and in order to have true peace in the world we have to consider their peace as well. This is true freedom from fear. In order to have peace for all species, human beings have to evolve from predators to partners, walking the path of mutual respect with the animal kingdoms. This is the basic philosophy of The New Shamanism, a modern twist on ancient teachings, pioneered by Billie Dean as a spiritual path to help people reconnect with nature and animals.
If we are to create a kinder more compassionate and gentle world, then we need to embrace a deeper connection with animals and nature, based on an understanding of and respect of their sentience and contribution to the planet, not to humans. The old way of exploiting animals for food, entertanment, research and clothing has to make way for a new way of being together in harmony and mutual benefit for emotional, mental, spiritual, physical well being and health.
True happiness and serenity comes from all species being free from fear.
The Vision
A paradigm shift into a world of deep peace for all species, where animals are treated with respect, reverence, kindness and compassion , where the path of non violence is practised in every area and every non human can live free from fear and with their families and children if they choose.
The Mission
This is a not-for-profit charity to foster global peace and freedom for animals, through the arts, education and compassionate action.
Arts
Create inspiring and thought-provoking cultural works to help create social change for animals.
Making it fun and cool to be vegan, compassionate and kind.
Taking the idea of true animal caring out to the mainstream through the arts and making it morally accepted.
Radical art!
Education
Building a retreat centre on a sanctuary so animal artists, animal sensitives and animal advocates may interact with their muse, and animals and in a peaceful setting.
Teaching farmers to make the transition to a more humane way of making a living on the land – for example – organic fruits, vegetables and nuts to supply a vegan world.
Teaching people working with and living with animals about the truth of animal behaviour, the importance of diet and holistic healing and thus preventing unnecessary death. This includes the vet profession and animal welfare organisations. The goal is for peace for all animals and to get rid of convenience euthanasia and death row, plus the abolishment of using and discarding animals for science, fashion, entertainment and the like.
Public speaking, events, conferences
Writings, films and other ways to educate the public about animals and caring for them, fostering a more humane world.
Teaching people to make humane choices.
Creating a paradigm shift so that cruelty to animals no longer exists.
Compassionate Action
Further sanctuaries for animals in need, based on the holistic and gentle principles employed at A Place of Peace, where for two decades, Billie Dean and her family have created a forever home for over 40 rescued horses , plus dogs, cats, goats, sheep and other animals.
This is urgent. Land is need and finance needs to be raised to acquire land for animals in need. Why should the homeless suffer? Why should farm animals and those living in the wild like wild horses and kangaroos, suffer. It is time for people power and rebellion. The Deep Peace Movement asks you to make a stand and say NO to death and killing and suffering of non humans by your lifestyle choices ( go vegan) and simply saying “THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.” Rebel!!
The Ultimate Misssion…
…Of our organisation is to contribute to a major global paradigm shift which makes animal welfare redundant, because humans evolved into a species which walks beside the non humans on this planet, in mutual respect, love, harmony and deep peace.
By expanding our compassion and love to animals we create more light on a planet darkened by fear and horror and suffering. This is a big picture vision, and esoteric, but thoughts, create thought forms, and fear and suffering contributes to the mass collective consciousness, creating widespread misery for all. Human beings can no longer sustain the mindless blood shed we do to animals which stains our hearts and souls with shame and distress, and by creating sanctuaries of light and love and compassion we raise the consciousness of all, contributing to the major quantum leap in evolution that we need for the paradigm shift into the world of peace. Animals and their peace and happiness are vitally important to this big picture.

About the Founders
Vegan creative artists Billie Dean and Andrew Einspruch have contributed to animal welfare for many decades through lifestyle choices and involvement in direct animal rescue and welfare, and writing, filmmaking, public speaking.
They run a newsletter called Animal Whispers which re-homes animals and enlightens its readers with Billie’s compassionate and mystical perspective as an animal telepath for many years.
Billie is an award-winning actress, an international speaker on animal rights, has written a ground breaking book on animals, and she and Andrew have made three films and some short videos with animal welfare as the theme. The latest is called A New Era for Animals, from a talk Billie did for a UK Conference.
They have personally taken under their wing over 40 rescued horses, most of them brumbies, and numerous dogs , cats, goats, sheep, geese ,cows and others.
Current Action and Needs
Billie and Andrew have been offered a property which currently homes sheep and cattle. The vision would be to keep the sheep and cattle and create a model vegan farm (no killing) based on spiritual principles with a retreat centre for artists with an interest in promoting peace for animals, and others interested in learning the latest enlightened thinking around animals.
This venture needs urgent funds.
Trapping wild horses begins again in February 2013.. Land is needed for sanctuary for the unwanted horses. We want to say no to all culling. It is no longer acceptable. We need a holding place for unwanted horses until culling is halted forever.
This venture also needs urgent funds.
To raise immediate awareness of the plight of animals Billie and Andrew are intending to organize a series of Canberra-based events involving artists and animal rights advocates. International competitions across the art mediums are to be at the core of this. We will be looking for sponsors and business alliances to help us host elegant evenings of Art and Animals.
The Movement
To get involved in the Deep Peace Movement you can do many things to support the big picture.
1.Go vegan – this is a far healthier way of eating and there are a ton of resources on this website to help people transition, plus we are coming up with more and more helpful resources and recipes – for humans and animals. Meat is the temple of another’s soul and by not eating it you contribute to saving the lives of countless animals who suffer unspeakable horror in our current food production practises. Say yes to a kinder diet. You and the animals will be so glad you did.
2. Say yes to caring for animals in a responsible, committed way and promoting hospice as a spiritual passage. Say no to convenience euthanasia. We are currently living in a society which believes animals are disposable and they are killed for any small reason. This needs to change. We need to honour and respect our fellow species.
3. Change your language around animals. How can you own a soul? This makes them a slave to us and it gives people the right to do horrible things. So instead of “owner”, consider yourself a guardian or carer or kin. Also don’t talk about animals as “it”. This depersonalises them. Use their name. Be polite and respectful. They are not “pets”, (which makes them like disposable toys), they are family, kin, companions.
4.Support compassionate action for animals in a way that people can hear it so we avoid the knee jerk reaction that anger often ignites. Be strong yet peaceful. Say this is no longer acceptable. it is unacceptable to treat animals this way.
5.Support The Billie Dean International Deep Peace Organisation and our education and sanctuary efforts to create deep peace for all animals. We have just opened an account for this not for profit – email treasurer andrew@wildpureheart.com for donation details.
6. To keep up to date with the Organisation’s activities join the email newsletter Animal Whispers on this site.
Words from the Founder, Billie Dean
If, like me, you want to see an end to violence towards animals, then we need more people resonating personal peace. The Billie Dean Deep Peace Trust was inspired by my Celtic roots and also by my understanding of universal laws. Thoughts are things. This is the bottom line. So if you protest against animal cruelty then you put more energy and fuel into animal cruelty and create more of it. What you put your attention on expands. As we don’t want ANY violence towards animals, then we must focus on peace, and be peace in our actions, hearts and souls.
Mother Theresa also understood this thinking and refused to attend anti-war rallies or protests. Instead, we must focus on peace and strive for peace.
Lots of people want peace on the planet, but for many people this is just anti-war. Other people search for personal peace through meditation. I say we need peace for all species because until we do, there will still be fear on this planet. Fear, death and suffering. And as I say in Secret Animal Business, all suffering , including animal suffering, contributes to an etheric fog which affects the consciousness of all.
We know it’s wrong to cause another being to suffer and feel pain and loss. But we’ve been brainwashed to believe it is okay to do this to animals. We’ve purposefully disconnected ourselves from nature and the animal kingdom, thinking we are the dominant species – the only species with a soul.
How wrong this is.
And not only is it wrong but it scars us. It hurts humans, even on a sub conscious level, creating depression, anxiety and intense emotional pain, knowing that the world is not safe for our animal kin, and that they have been subjected to horrors at the hands of our own species.
And now, in this New Era of compassion and kindness, it is no longer acceptable. It never was. But now we need to actively change. We have to be as one voice and say “No more! This is unacceptable.” And protect other species from harm, and thus doing, indeed our own species from a deep wounding many never recover from. Humans have huge capacities to love and do the right thing. Let’s extend that circle of love and include the non-human species in it.
For me, peace for humanity is not enough. Every species needs deep peace. Feel what that feels like for a moment – deep peace.
In my training with the Oder of Bards, Ovates and Druids, we work a lot with Deep Peace. To me it is a resonance that touches every cell. What would it mean to have a planet that was free from fear?
Enjoy this wonderful poem which has inspired many artists, as it has inspired me. It comes from The Dominion of Dreams: Under The Dark Star by Fiona MacLeod (1895). Fiona MacLeod was a 19th century romantic and Celtic visionary and also, apparently the female pen name of William Sharp. This is a prayer I say in ceremony, and it is taken from the longer poem that follows:
Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.
And the full poem:
Deep Peace
Deep peace I breathe into you, O weariness, here:
O ache, here!
Deep peace, a soft white dove to You;
Deep peace, a quiet rain to you;
Deep peace, an ebbing wave to you!
Deep peace, red wind of the east from you;
Deep peace, grey wind of the west to You;
Deep peace, dark wind of the north from you;
Deep peace, blue wind of the south to you!
Deep peace, pure red of the flame to you;
Deep peace, pure white of the moon to you;
Deep peace, pure green of the grass to you;
Deep peace, pure brown of the earth to you;
Deep peace, pure grey of the dew to you,
Deep peace, pure blue of the sky to you!
Deep peace of the running wave to you,
Deep peace of the flowing air to you,
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,
Deep peace of the sleeping stones to you!
Deep peace of the Yellow Shepherd to you,
Deep peace of the Wandering Shepherdess to you,
Deep peace of the Flock of Stars to you,
Deep peace from the Son of Peace to you,
Deep peace from the heart of Mary to you,
And from Briget of the Mantle
Deep peace, deep peace!
And with the kindness too of the Haughty Father
Peace!
In the name of the Three who are One,
Peace!
And by the will of the King of the Elements,
Peace! Peace!
And a quote to end with:
“The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka (the Great Spirit), and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.
