| Established
in 1989, the Ballyoncree Animal Sanctuary provides a permanent home
for horses and dogs who were neglected, abused or abandoned.
The
Sanctuary is currently a forever home for 25 horses (including ten
brumbies), seven inside dogs, a goat cats and other feathered and
four-legged friends. Many of our animals have special needs, such
as epilepsy, arthritis, partial blindness, or simple old age. Everyone
is treated holistically.
Who Are We?
Ballyoncree (“Home of the Heart”) is a family-run, holistic
animal sanctuary, which specialises in inspiring people to reconnect
with nature and Mother Earth, to live passionately and compassionately,
to understand the secrets of nature and animals, animal spirituality
and behaviour, and healing for animals and humans. This is done
through seminars, workshops and private animal communication sessions,
films, blogs (www.ballyoncree.com,
www.wildpureheart.com,
www.mayyoubeforeveryoung.com),
books, CD’s
and other products.
Ballyoncree is run by animal sensitives Billie Dean and Andrew Einspruch,
who are writers and filmmakers by profession.
Every month, a free on-line newsletter is sent out with animal stories,
information, events and photos to keep you up to date with what’s
happening at Ballyoncree. To receive the free email newsletter,

Typical of the stories of animals who have found refuge are Jaffah
and Maverick. Jaffah had been psychically urging Billie to give
her a home and Billie felt an urgency to move them from their Canberra
agistment. Three days later, the devastating 2003 Canberra fires
hit.
Jaffah
and Maverick's home paddocks were struck by a fireball, and their
shocked previous person said the horses would certainly have died,
as she was in another part of the city, struggling to save her home
with two small children in tow.
The ponies Erin and Tammy were both victims of drought. Erin desperately
needed a new home when hay soared to $25 per bale. Tammy was found
starving on agistment. Today they are both happy and healthy at
Ballyoncree. Both have bonded to a small herd of six ponies who
are fed and handled daily at the Sanctuary. |
